Leslie describes his BeMORE Experience…
“I initially joined BeMORE as I wanted to implement more structure and strategy into how and when I give – not just donating reactively when someone is running a marathon! Coming together with a group of diverse thinkers allowed me to open my mind like never before.
I believe that generosity plays a huge part in many people’s lives. In ways that we know but also in ways we have no idea about”.
In this video, Leslie describes how he and his fellow BeMORE members decided to donate their group giving pot to the charity ‘Young Minds’ which focuses on tackling mental health for children and young adults.
Lauren Farmer, Development Officer at Young Minds attended the Giving Celebration in December. She met BeMORE participants and received a donation of £5,000 from Leslie’s giving group, the ‘Rebels’.
“It has been fantastic getting to know the BeMORE Rebels team who chose YoungMinds. They were so incredibly passionate about really understanding the crisis in children and young people’s mental health and the work we do. It was particularly great to see how this programme has helped them to turn this enthusiasm into positive action. Their generous gift will help us to continue our vital work fighting for the mental health of children and young people across the UK“ said Lauren.
Leslie’s final thought on his BeMORE Experience:
“BeMORE took me on a personal journey & provided a platform for me to personally think about my identity and purpose”.
