A BeMORE group donated £24,800 to Springboard for Children
There are many children in London’s most deprived areas at risk of being left behind by the education system. Springboard for Children was at the pilot stage of its “peer-to-peer reader leader” scheme, which saw Year 10 and 11 pupils trained to help Year 7 and 8’s with reading, when this BeMORE group donated the amount needed to fund a programme coordinator for up to 18 months. This allowed the charity to roll the initiative out to more London schools – and ultimately support the programme on its way to becoming self-sustaining.
Working with the BeMORE group helped Springboard to understand better the needs of young philanthropists. It was a privilege to work with a group of people focussed on understanding how the charity moves from a concept of a project to actually getting it off the ground and working with beneficiaries.
