A BeMORE group donated £10,000 to HERA – Her Equality, Rights and Autonomy
HERA enables young women in Eastern Europe who have been trafficked, abused and subjected to exploitation to gain economic autonomy. It helps them start their own businesses or find employment, fostering their professional skills through mentoring and providing them with business support. This BeMORE group’s £10,000 donation went to helping them start and scale up their enterprises through purchasing equipment, training and providing technical assistance.
HERA's BeMORE investor group has been very supportive. We share common values about using a private sector approach and promoting entrepreneurship to stop the multibillion business of trafficking and re-trafficking of women. We also share the value of ensuring that the majority of our funding goes directly to preventing trafficking.
One of the group’s members has regularly volunteered to be part of our international panel of assessors. Another offered a sales outlet for some of the women's ventures HERA has supported in Central and Eastern Europe. We much appreciated financial support from young, vibrant investors, BeMORE’s lack of bureaucracy, and the members’ expertise.
